🍀Chance of winning

Fair chance comparing to regular type of lottery

You can calculate your chance of winning.

As we are transparent in terms of minimum/maximum tickets to sell and number of participants, you have all the information required to calculate your chance of winning.

General

The chances of winning each raffle will be displayed for everyone to see.

Until the minimum number of tickets are sold, the chances of winning per ticket are 1 divided by the minimum number of tickets sold. Using the example in the previous section, the chances of winning until the minimum number of tickets is reached is then number of tickets bought/378.

Someone with 1 ticket would have a chance of 1/378 = 0.265%

The lowest possible chance for someone to win the same raffle would be if the maximum number of tickets are sold. The lowest chances of winning with 1 ticket using the example above is 1/465 = 0.215%

Once the status is HAPPENING, the chances of winning are the number of tickets held divided by the total number of tickets sold.

We want to give people a fair chance of winning prizes so the example above is realistic to what you would find on the Chance On Chain.

In comparison, some examples of the chances of someone winning at a traditional lottery:

The USA Powerball lottery jackpot is 1 / 292,201,338 = 0.0000003422%

EuroMillions or EuroJackpot jackpot is 1 / 139,838,160 = 0.0000007151%

The Australia Powerball Jackpot is 1 / 134,490,400 = 0.0000007435%
